Selected Exhibitions 2024 of Galapagos artists | "Galapagos a travel in time: Cyanotype and Climate Change"

The Benjamin Carrión Núcleo Galapagos House of Culture, within the framework of the Inauguration of the Exhibition Center in Puerto Ayora, developed a cycle of exhibitions by plastic and visual artists from Galapagos.

The work "Galapagos a travel in time: Cyanotype and Climate Change" was presented as part of this cycle of exhibitions during the month of August 2024. The work presented 24 images revealed in the cyanotype technique that were part of the research "Galapagos, a travel in time: Cyanotype and Climate Change", research that is born from the expressive search as a dividual manifestation of creation. How are we connected to our environment? How can we break the stereotypes of the homogeneity of the image towards a moving reality? And, is it possible that the original techniques of photography allow us to reconstruct the ethical dimension of creation? The selection of images made in the Galapagos Islands by the author and revealed in the cyanotype technique aims to find some answers to these concerns through evidence of the effects of climate change, also putting the creation of images at the service of science and establishing new questions regarding the current reality of the planet.
